In 1966 I had the good fortune to begin my apprenticeship with one of America's leading antique restorers. His clients were the top tier of collectors, dealers and importers of American and European furniture. Starting at the most menial level of stripping and deliveries, I was immersed in a world of beauty, history and connoisseurship. The respect for craftsmanship and dedication to excellence that I learned there have remained. My love affair with the rich colors and patina of beautiful wood had begun.
Through the years, in response to the needs of my customers, my work has ranged from a scratch to an entire room. Quality modern furniture, pianos and prefinished millwork in high end homes receive the same attention and care as heirloom furniture. The investment in, and enjoyment of them is protected and maintained. Working with the oldest Steinway Piano dealer in America, I have been trained at the Steinway factory in New York. In new construction, custom mixed dyes, glazes and Dutch made varnish are hand applied. A library or great room is finished like a large piece of furniture.
Today I still strive for excellence. I invite you to review these examples of my work.
